National Initiatives. OSHA will conduct the following national outreach initiatives.
The details are in development and will be shared as soon as they are available.

o Safe + Sound: Campaign for Safety and Health Programs

The goal of the campaign is to promote the understanding and adoption of safety and health programs. The signature event is Safe + Sound Week, when employers can show their safety commitment through activities related to common core elements of recognized safety and health programs: management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to find and fix hazards. The 2018 Safe + Sound Week date will be held on August 13-19, 2018.

o Stop Falls Campaign

The Stop Falls Campaign raises awareness of the danger of falls. Originally focused in the construction industry, it is now inclusive of other industries. The signature event is the National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction, to be held May 7-11, 2018. The stand-down encourages employers to take a dedicated time during the week to focus on fall prevention efforts and training.

o Heat Illness Prevention

During hot weather, OSHA will promote the risks of heat and prevention measures using the #WaterRestShade Campaign for Heat Illness Prevention.

o Trench Safety Stand-Down

OSHA will participate in the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) Trench Safety Stand-down on June 18-23, 2018. OSHA will continue to promote and be involved in compliance assistance and outreach related to trench safety.
