NCSH 615 Maritime Outreach Course for Shipyard Employment

Course Description: This course is intended to provide entry-level safety and health-hazard information tailored to shipyard employees involved in ship repairing, shipbuilding, and ship breaking. The focus is on identification, avoidance, control, and prevention – not OSHA standards. Students completing the hourly and course requirements obtain a Maritime Outreach Department of Labor Card.

Note: The student cards provided in the Maritime Outreach Training Program expire five years after the training. To retain a valid 10-hour Maritime Shipyard card, students are required to take a student update course prior to their expiration date.
