Course Description: The Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) program provides a management tool for hospitals to ensure that their Incident Command System meets JCAHO standards for community compatiblility. The program identifies the roles and functions of the HICS, the command staff, general staff and includes a logistics section, planning section, finance section and operations section. The operations section includes the Decontamination Branch. Tools for HICS include Job Action Sheets, forms, and a HICS organizational chart. This course will familiarize participants with these tools.
