Course Description: The course covers the recognition, evaluation, and control of safety and health hazards for federal agencies, including the OSH Act, Executive Order 12196, 29 CFR 1960 and 29 CFR 1910 General Industry standards. Students will learn to reference the General Industry standards and use of related consensus standards and best practices. At the successful completion of the course, the student will be familiar with OSHA General Industry standards and have the ability to identify safety and health hazards, apply common abatement practices to correct those hazards, and be familiar with multiple resources available to identify problems or problem areas.
