Course Description: The focus of this one-day course is to use “OSHA’s Ergonomics Guidelines for Nursing Homes” document as a basis for any healthcare facility to develop a process to protect workers and their patients. The course will focus on Recognizing, Assessing and Controlling ergonomic hazards in a healthcare setting. Featured topics include: developing an ergonomics process, risk factors inherent in patient handling, identifying problem jobs including protocols for patient assessment, and implementing solutions including work practices and engineering solutions.
Intended Audience: The target audience is the healthcare facility administrator and/or human resource personnel designated with the responsibility to develop an ergonomics process.
