Important Notice November 13, 2025

Dear OSHA Outreach Trainers in the Boston Office/Region 1

We wanted to let you know that Leslie Singleton retired on August 29th and until her position is filled, your contact is Sean Ryan. Also, there a are a few changes to the portal that will take effect on November 20, 2025.  See below:

We’re excited to announce several updates to the OSHA Card Portal designed to make your experience more efficient and seamless. With these new features, you’ll enjoy greater convenience and control of training logistics. Updates to the OSHA Card Portal will take full effect on Thursday, November 20th.

·         PDF Outreach Cards — Trainers and ATOs can view and download PDF files of student cards directly from the portal, providing an automatic means of fulfilling the requirement to keep a digital copy of all student cards. These can be accessed from the Card Details page as soon as the card has been shipped.

·         Document Management — You will now be required to upload mandatory Class Report documents (Detailed Topic Outline, Student Contact Sheet, and Student Sign-In Sheet) when submitting your Class Reports. This change will make it easy to store, share, and manage documents in one location visible to both ATOs and trainers.

*The exception to the document management requirements–specifically student contact sheets will be trainers who have underage students in their classes

**If you do not upload all of your documents at the time of the order, you will not be able to add those documents at a later date.

***We recommend that you continue to maintain your own records separate from the portal

·         Payment Language — The “Payment Instructions” on the Order Details, Invoice PDF, and Order Receipt Email now contain language clarifying that not all ATOs accept payment by check. Please verify your ATO’s policy before sending payment.

*To be clear, the Boston Office/Region 1 ATO  does not allow card payments to be made by check—–only the language is changing

These enhancements are part of our ongoing commitment to simplify processes, reduce administrative work, and make training management smoother for everyone. Thanks for your continued partnership and dedication to safety training excellence, and please let us know if you have any questions!

Regards,

Sean Ryan

NOTICE: As part of its continuing effort to improve the Outreach Training Program, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has eliminated the authorized trainer “90-day grace period” described in Sections III.B.1.,2, and 4 of the OSHA Outreach Training Program Requirements. This change is included in the 2019 published revisions of the OSHA Outreach Training Program Requirements and applicable sections of each Industry Procedures document, and became effective January 1, 2019.  Outreach Trainers who do not successfully complete OSHA #502/#503 Update Course for Outreach Trainers prior to their expiration date, will need to begin the process again, completing a Prerequisite Verification Form and retaking the OSHA #500/#501 Trainer Course in OSHA Standards. ****(If the prerequisite OSHA #510 OSHA Standards for Construction or OSHA #511 OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARDS FOR GENERAL INDUSTRY is older than seven years, that will also need to be retaken.)*****
